Cautley Spout

The high falls of Cautley Spout were formed when glaciers eroded back into the mountainside, eventually diverting a north-flowing stream over the edge of Cautley Crag. Today the beautiful falls attract visitors in great numbers.
A steep walk up from either side and a testing river crossing for the best views but well worth the trip. Glimpsed in the distance from the footpath not far from Low Haygarth Cautley Spout is huge and breathtaking once you get nearer. The public footpath goes up the north side and ends soon after, however the Dales High Way passes nearby on The Calf above.
