The village of Greenfield in Oldham is located in Greater Manchester, but sits below Dovestone Edge, on the border of the Peak District National Park.

The village has a long history and was mentioned in the Domesday Book. It was also a stop-off point for travellers on the packhorse route between Manchester and Sheffield. In more recent times, the village has become a popular destination for walkers and cyclists
