Black Coppice Mill Stone Factory

An old site of millstone manufacturing above Black Coppice Quarry. The rock here is probably the Fletcher Bank Grit and the millstones probably date to around the start of the 20th Century given the manufacture process, which involves supporting stones atop several other rocks during roughing out is said to be a later development. Note, this is disturbingly similar to the supposed Black Coppice Chambered Tomb that also features a flat rock supported on other rocks, along with some other nearby structures that might otherwise be described as 'rock shelters'.
