Tor Hill
Tor Hill or Musbury Tor above Haslingden has a classic “tor” appearance which is not common in the area and is caused by a layer of hard grit-stone rock resisting erosion above layers of softer rock. Tor Hill's distinctive shape is well-known and recognisable locally.
Similar geological formations are not so-uncommon nearby where long sandstone ridges can be found but not in a nice compact hill-shape.
