Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock is a town in East Ayrshire, Scotland. It lies upon the River Irvine, approximately 16 miles (26 km) from Glasgow and 30 miles (48 km) from Edinburgh.
Kilmarnock was initially built around St. Marnoch's Church which was completed sometime after 1366 but has since been largely rebuilt. Kilmarnock is the main town within East Ayrshire Council area, however its growth during many centuries has been relatively gradual. The local industries have typically been of a primary nature, although now there are also several large factories operating within the town that produce significant volumes of now high-tech material or medical equipment.
